I was literally so excited to watch the Oscar this year. Mainly for the red carpet, but also because I love Ellen DeGeneres. Can we please acknowledge how she was not only an excellent host her second time around, but the fact that she is an all around amazing person! She is so easy to relate to, sympathize with, and love! Her wit and charm made her the perfect host for one of the most viewed Oscar events in history!
The show itself was great and didn't fall short of anyone's expectations. Also, let's shout out Frozen for being nominated and winning almost every category; it was truly and exceptional animated film.
Nae Nae
Can someone please explain to me why the "Nae Nae" is so popular? I'll wait...

Miley, Miley, Miley
I'm just going to put it out there. Despite public opinion, Miley Cyrus is queen. despite her scandalous performances, her break up, and her 'downfall' she comes out on top in the media world. The girl knows what she's doing. Yes she may be a little raunchy and out there, but she's being herself, which is not something you can say about a lot of other artist out there right now. Watching her grow up on television is the only reason the public has such an harsh opinion about her. She's growing up and coming into her own just like any normal kid transitioning from youth to adulthood. She may not be going about it the right way, but I honestly think she couldn't care less about what people have to think about her. She's a major success with the release of her Bangerz album and her upcoming Bangerz tour. Honestly, I can't wait to see what she does next.
Keeping Up with One Direction
It's hard enough trying to "keep up with the Kardashians". With the controversy surrounding Kim and Kanye, Khloe and Lamar, and Kris and Bruce, Kendall Jenner has now opened her eyes to the world of media rumors and scandal.
The young Kardashian seems to be taking after older sister Kim, after racy photos of Jenner were posted on social media in a sheer shirt with no bra. The young model was posing for a photo shoot when the seemingly harmless photos were taken.
Later this month, the young reality star aroused the media when she was spotted out with One Direction's singer Harry Styles. Styles and Jenner are reportedly dating but no comment has been made by either of the two. Fans and others speculate that the "relationship" is strictly business. Regardless of the extent of their relationship, the two seem to enjoy each others company, and that's what really counts, huh?
Yeezus
From his scandalous videos, to his controversial remarks and interviews ,his love life, his God like superiority complex, and fighting off the paparazzi,
love or hate him, Kanye West has made his mark in music history.
It goes without saying that since his coming out, Kanye has been a big name in the music industry. From the Late Registration album, up until Yeezus, his music has gone viral. Despite what seems to be an extreme superiority complex, Yeezy has taught us all a few things.
I have come to accept the fact that the man is a little crazy, some may even say narcissistic, but I cannot doubt his genius (musical and intellectual). From his lyrics, and video concepts to the way he carries himself, there is something really, for lack of a better word, real, about Kanye West.
He will always be in the spotlight weather it’s for another great album, some new controversy, or an elaborate proposal to fiancé Kim Kardashian. I guess any publicity, positive or negative, is good publicity.

Underground Music
Mainstream is not everything! For those willing to stray from the norm and branch out to do their own things; I applaud you. Music has been around for God knows how long-- it gives people life.
For as long as we have known, people have been producing and remaking the same sounds, beats, rhythms, and words. From R&B to Hip Hop and Country music has really begun to involve. The influence of artist and producers we love has made it's way underground.
Underground music mixes a variety of generes that fall outside of what we know as the mainstream culture. Though some underground music styles have been brought to light, many still access their non maninstream roots of heavy, jagged, agressive rock, and smooth flowing tracks.
Some well known underground rap artist include Joey Bada$$, Chance the Rapper, and Talib Kweli. They all have a unique sound and have impacted the rap community.
Pharrell Williams - Happy
GENIUS- Singer, songwriter, blogger, rapper, record producer/drummer, and fashion designer Pharrell Williams is most certainly an "OTHER." (http://iamother.com/) Pharrell released his 24 hour of unique content music video "Happy". The song was made for the movie “despicable me 2” and happened to be very catchy with upbeat tune it has to it.This man never seems to disappoint me when it comes to his creativeness. Pharrell is the first artist to ever release a music video that is 24 hours long. Watching this video at a computer might be best. ENJOY! :)
